Black Women Resting😌

Wooooooooooooooooooooooo

Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I just woke up from a nap floating in a pool of water filled with epsom salt, followed by a relaxing hot shower. As I write this, I am sipping herbal tea and breathing in mandarin orange scented oxygen. The entire spa has the most pleasant and relaxing scent and soft acoustic music plays quietly in the background. I am being cared for by the staff with no rush to leave and rejoin the real world. I can see it from the window. My husband and daughter waiting outside for me.

This was one of my Mother's Day presents, two sessions at True Rest Float Spa. I have been looking forward to this. Time to rest and relax without interruptions or annoyances. I, with countless other black women are reevaluating how we show up for the world, each other and ourselves. We are tired. Tired of white supremacy, patriarchy, capitalism and colonialism. This world has shown us that our efforts are not enough to change the direction of this nation's politics and social climate. So we threw our hands up and gave America the finger. While turning our efforts inward to ourselves and our fellow black woman.

The result of this is doing what we already do, just bigger and better. We outsiiiiide!!! With our fans and boots on the ground, we are ushering in an era of joy. A celebration of who we are and how far we have come. I personally have already gone to Mary J Blige's tour. Next month I'm going with my children to DC to see Kendrick and Sza. Then I'm going on a cruise to Mexico with my extended family to celebrate my sister turning 50 and her youngest child graduating high school. Then in July I'm going to to see Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter show in Atlanta. In August I will celebrate my 43rd birthday. I hope to fit as much line dancing in as I possibly can this summer.

As they say, self care is the best care. So the way I see it, the best thing black women can do for this country is maintain our peace and sanity. It's all we got for y'all either way so...✌🏽&🫶🏽

Where my fan at!?

  1. I agree 100% with you. We have to get our rest and fill our own cups. Can’t pour from an empty cup. And our pouring is so very needed. Much love to you Sis🥰💖
